Ordinances of which residents of Shoreland Hills should be aware:
Driving/Parking Prohibited In Lawn and Greenway Section 94-207
In part, this section states "Parking and driving are prohibited in or over the front, side or rear yard, other than on an approved driveway".
Trash and Rubbish Containers Section 98-142
All carts must be put out for collection by 7am on day scheduled for collection.
Street pick-up: Carts shall be set out no more than 24 hours prior to collection and shall be removed within 24 hours after collection.
Nuisance Law Sec. 46-31 to 46-64
Noise disturbances are prohibited, and a noise disturbance is defined in part as any sound that disturbs a reasonable person with normal sensitivities. This ordinance goes into detail about noise from electronic devices (including sound systems in automobiles) and allowable noise at the property line.
Dog/cats creating nuisance Section 14-133
includes the verbiage "barking excessively, depositing excretory matter on private property other than that of owner, (and the) damaging of property are declared to be a nuisance and are prohibited." Penalty: First infraction, a citation. After the first issuance of a citation, any subsequent violation in that calendar year shall result in the animal being impounded at the owner's expense.
