Join neighbors celebrate "unity in the community" with Christopher Dale who returns to Shoreland Hills from his native San Diego for a second year. A musical troubadour, Christopher's performances offer those in attendance a gateway to positivity and neighborhood connection. This year's event will take place at the Pinewood Triangle (Pinewood Trail, Kaye Lane and Oakdale Way). Bring your lawn chairs, your beverages of choice, snacks and donations for the artist, who performs solely for tips in the spirit of Unity in the Community.
After last year's rainout, it is time to make up for a "lost year" with the 2026 SHPOA Annual Beach Party. Fun for all on our beautiful beach! There will be Italian Ice for all and assorted activities. More specific details will be made available as we get closer to the date. For those new to the neighborhood, there is a recap of the 2024 event to provide a sense of what can be expected! Never to early to let the chant begin, "No rain! No rain! No rain!"
Join the By the Beach Committee, as we celebrate a truly inspirational grassroots accomplishment: the anticipated payoff of our loan for the lot located at 3044 Lake Shore Drive, forever preserving it in perpetuity from thoughtless development. Our effort was born of a shared vision- one that required many neighbors- friends and strangers alike- to act and give generously together in the name of preservation.
This is a truly remarkable feat and we would be remiss were we not to focus on the generosity it took from all involved to turn this vision into a reality! More details to follow as we get closer to the date. (Rain Date: Sunday, September 6th).

Shoreland Hills Beautification Gratitude
Many thanks to Pam Utterback for spearheading our Mother's Day weekend beach cleanup and flower planting on Saturday, May 10th. Thank you to those who lent their helping hands: Stephanie Baker, Nick and Amy Georgitis, Alan and Kathleen Lang, Jan Radford and Laura Schuerman.
Also, a huge shout out to Jan Butcher who, every Spring, continues to plant flowers by the Shoreland Hills entrance sign on Duneland Beach Drive.
"Pottygate"
For purposes of transparency, the SHPOA Board wants to make sure our neighbors are aware that the removal of the port-a-potty at Stop 31 was due to the the Village of Long Beach's claim of ordinance violations and the threat of daily fines if we did not take action and remove it. We are currently trying to remedy the situation with Long Beach since the absence of the port-a-potty presents common sense concerns.
Shoreland Hills and Stop 31
As we quickly head into the 4th of July and one of the biggest weekends of the year, we would like to share some important reminders for our property owners and their guests:

Get ready, Shorelamd Hills, preparations are moving quickly for the annual SHPOA Beach Party! Since 2025 was a washout, we are doing everything in our power to ensure this is the best beach party yet! Saturday, July 25th, 2026. Keep your eye out for the flyer which contains more specific details.
